Mattress Overlays

 

The Mattress Overlays are available in a range of sizes and are used to cover the entire surface or targeted areas of an existing standard mattress. Action® Mattress Overlays are used by long-term care facilities, caregivers and hospitals as a significant component in the prevention and treatment of decubitus ulcers.

The Mattress Overlays are made with our proprietary Akton ® polymer that is clinically proven to help prevent pressure injuries by lowering pressure and reducing shear forces.

In addition to the various sizes available, some Action® Mattress Overlays are available with a hook and loop hitch used to secure one end of the overlay to the head of the bed. The hitch secures the pad to the bed to reduce slippage when the bed is raised.

AKTON Polymer

The ultra-soft polymer combined with the soft, flexible surface of our pads allows the product to move with the patient, reducing negative effects of shear on fragile skin. In addition, the Akton® polymer distributes weight and dissipates heat; lowering the risk of high-pressure points and hot spot development that can lead to pressure injuries. These benefits combined enhance pressure injury protection.

Impervious to Fluids

AKTON polymer is impervious to fluids, will not support bacterial growth, and does not leak or flow if punctured.
