TWISTER® Wheelchair Backs

The Twister® Wheelchair Back with adjustable tension upholstery is a replacement for the standard upholstery supplied with most wheelchairs. It can be adjusted using hook and loop straps to accommodate the user’s deformities or provide a corrective contour to assist in optimal posture. Because the Twister® Wheelchair Back does not have a solid shell, the wheelchair can be folded for transport or storage with the back in place.

In addition to providing an easily adjusted contour, this back incorporates polymer cube inserts to reduce pressure and shearing at contact areas. Because it uses the lighter polymer cube sheets the Twister® Wheelchair Back does not significantly add to the weight of the wheelchair.

The rippled design is intended to improve airflow to the skin to reduce heat and moisture buildup. The Twister® Wheelchair Back support provides padding of the wheelchair back canes for comfort and reduces the chance of pressure points developing.
