Dr. Heather Kooiker, DNP, MSN, RN, CNL, CNOR, CRNFA
Dr. Heather Kooiker is no stranger to the medical profession, boasting Nursing Surgical Service experience spanning 28 years (and counting). It’s this impressive tenure in the field that has earned her the trust and confidence of several major health systems in the area.
Dr. Kooiker has an extensive list of professional postings dating as far back as 1995 when she was a Certified Surgical Technologist and Scrub Nurse at Mercy Health Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI. Since then, she has contributed her expertise to several renowned institutions including University of Michigan Health West, River Valley Orthopedics, Baxter International, and more.
Continued education has allowed Dr. Kooiker to advance her career in exciting ways. In 1995, she earned her Vocational Degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Following that, she has received an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and a Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP).
Dr. Kooiker is currently an Assistant Professor of Nursing at Davenport University of Professional Health, a role she has held since January 2020.
